Head of Marketing

3D Laser Mapping is seeking a Head of Marketing to lead our marketing effort to help accelerate our dramatic growth. You will be responsible for setting up and executing marketing campaigns and managing budgets to ensure ROI goals are met or exceeded. From consistent and powerful messaging, to setting up campaigns that drive qualified leads to measuring ROI, our ideal candidate is an experienced marketing professional with a proven ability to create thought leadership and help drive increased sales for the company. Reporting to the Sales and Marketing Director.


Design a framework for executing the current marketing plan and make it work seamlessly.

Success Criteria

Maximise lead generation (to meet or exceed annual target for qualified leads)


  • Manage 3D Laser Mapping’s marketing efforts across all lines of business and marketing channels including live events, advertising, website, online, social, video and telemarketing.
  • Manage 3D Laser Mapping’s media relations efforts across print, online and social
  • Lead and grow our team of multi-disciplinary professionals to help scale 3D Laser Mapping’s marketing efforts over time (currently consisting of an events manager, a marketing assistant, a freelance content writer and external PR & SEO agency)
  • Manage 3D Laser Mapping’s content development efforts across brochures, flyers, white papers, case studies and success stories
  • Own the entire marketing process from idea to execution to measuring ROI
  • Create a content calendar for the company and partner with internal and external resources to ensure original B2B content get produced for video, blogs, white papers and webinars
  • Execute profitable lead generation campaigns across all marketing channels
  • Closely monitor and analyse performance of all demand generation activities and make and implement optimisation recommendations on a regular basis
  • Develop and manage a closed loop lead management process with sales to maximise marketing and sales investment
  • Manage and build a world-class customer and target prospect database with multiple relevant contacts per target organisation
  • Regularly identify growth opportunities and areas for additional marketing resource investments
  • Communicate demand generation strategy and results across the entire company and work with the executive team to ensure successful execution


  • Experience in marketing with particular emphasis on demand generation
  • Extensive experience with setting up and managing successful marketing campaigns across events, advertising, website, online, social, video and telemarketing
  • Experience leading a team of multi-disciplinary professionals to successfully plan and execute marketing programmes
  • Strong understanding of the marketing funnel and steps required to move prospects from enquiry to qualified lead and sales validation
  • Proven experience working closely with sales as a partner to drive revenue
  • Experienced used of marketing automation software such as Marketo, Eloqua, Pardot and/or Hubspot
  • Results-oriented professional with a proven track record of getting stuff done and achieving ambitious goals
  • Top-notch quantitative and analytical skills with an ability to turn data into actionable highlights
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for internal and external audiences
  • Desire to work in a dynamic environment where your work is critical to the company’s long term success
  • Based in our offices in the attractive market town of Bingham on the outskirts of Nottingham

General Requirements

  • Commercial strategic acumen; The candidate must have demonstrable experience in executing marketing plans for technical products. Ideally they will have done this in multiple geographies and through direct and in-direct channels. Although not a requirement it would be advantageous if the candidate has done this in SME environments.
  • Gravitas and interpersonal skills; As a member of the leadership team the candidate must be seen within the business as a company leader. To be successful they will also need to build strong and effective relationships with all levels within the business.
  • Culture; Maintaining the positive culture of the company is an important factor in our recruitment process. The culture of the management team and the company owners is to show tenacity beyond the usual norms when problem solving within the business. We are looking for honesty and integrity as well as ego and humility in equal measure.

Software Developer

A position has arisen for a Software Developer to join a friendly and dynamic team, offering the chance to make a significant contribution to the development of 3D Laser Mapping’s highly acclaimed 3D monitoring solution; SiteMonitor, amongst other projects.

Reporting directly to the technical lead, the successful candidate will have a proven track record in software development. They will also be a self-motivated and pro-active individual with good communication skills.

The regularly scheduled work-week consists of 37.5 hours worked Monday to Friday however occasional out of office hours ‘on-call’ work will be required as will overseas travel.

This role will be based out of our office in Bingham, Nottingham UK.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Software development and maintenance for geotechnical monitoring systems.
  • Customer support for 3D Laser Mapping software.
Skills and requirements:

Essential Skills/Experience:

  • Graduate degree (or equivalent) in computer science, or a related field, with applicable background
  • Strong development skills using C#, SQL.
  • Ability to independently develop software development plans, including timelines and test procedures.
  • Excellent teamwork/communication skills.

Desirable skills:

  • Ability to manage and deliver multiple projects.
  • Knowledge of OpenGL.
  • C++, Python experience.
  • Experience with version control systems e.g. GIT.

Reporting directly to the Business Development Director the successful candidate will have a proven track record in business development combined with a strong technical / engineering background. Excellent communication skills will ensure confidence in negotiations with clients, from end user through to board level management, while a focus on the development of long-term relationships will drive success.
