It’s a rainy Wednesday here at 3D Laser Mapping HQ, following a sunny bank holiday weekend where we had the opportunity to rest and reflect on our biggest and best GEO Business to date. Never mind post-holiday blues, now summer seems to be over, we’re suffering from post-GEO Business blues!
In its fifth year GEO Business has established itself as one of Europe’s key geospatial events, attracting a wealth of industry professionals and academics from around the world. With over two hundred exhibitors and almost as many presentations and workshops, GEO Business is not an event to miss. Once again we were happy to partner up with RIEGL Laser Measurement Systems to display a wide variety of laser scanning solutions.
Accompanying us on the stand was a ROBIN Mobile Mapping System which continues to attract attention two years after launching at GEO Business 2016. The three in one mobile mapping system is still the only one of its kind, mountable on a backpack, vehicle and heavy-lift UAV, it attracted visitors from across the globe who wanted to discuss and get hands on with the system. We also bought along ROBIN MINI +UAV, the original ROBIN’s lightweight younger sibling, which was also the topic of our seminar which took place on Tuesday morning.
Presenting to a packed conference room, LiDAR Systems Engineer Joanna Setkowicz took attendees through every aspect of the ROBIN MINI +UAV system including technical specification, installation and data processing as well as presenting the data from a test flight. Attendees were invited up to see the system in person and were pleased to see that the ROBIN MINI +UAV package can be customised to include a robust anti-vibration mount, airborne GNSS antennas and additional batteries to ensure the quality and efficiency of data capture. If you want to find out more about ROBIN MINI +UAV visit the webpage or download Joanna’s presentation here.
We continued to get a constant stream of visitors throughout the two days of GEO Business. RIEGL also attracted a lot of attention to the stand showcasing their RiCOPTER and TLS systems, including the new VZ-2000i which offers users the same high speed, high accuracy results as the existing VZ-2000 technology but also offers users automatic on-board data registration.
Next year’s GEO Business is taking place over 21 – 22 May 2019 and we’re already making exciting plans. We hope to see you there!
