Controlling the software - from the comfort of an air-conditioned vehicle! |
The methodology for carrying out repeat surveys using SiteMonitor depends onwhether the installation is of the continuous or periodic type - that is, whether the scanner is permanently installed or is set up seperately for each survey (see Configuration for more on this topic).
SiteMonitor has two modes of operation for collecting data in the field - manual and Wizard. The manual operation mode provides access to the full functionality of the software, but in most cases the Wizard mode is used, as this greatly simplifies the day-to-day operation of the software.
Simple repeat surveys
Once a monitoring project has been configured (which takes around 30 minutes to an hour for an average project), each subsequent data collection survey is simply a case of setting up the scanner, scanning a number of control points (to provide an orientation and a range correction factor) and re-scanning the areas of interest.
