Viewing
Point cloud data can be difficult to understand. Pointools enhances the clarity of standard data visualisation with point lighting and stereoscopic viewing. Unintelligible data sets come to life when viewed in Pointools View.
In addition to scan data, 3d models from a number of popular formats and drawings can be imported for viewing.
Pointools' viewing engine has been designed and built to deliver a high performance when handling even the largest architectural, engineering or heritage projects. Point cloud datasets come to screen immediately as the streaming engine selectively pulls the compressed data from disk. This means you can work with files many times larger than available memory.
Animation
Quickly produce stunning animations with Pointools View Pro. Animation control is based on a timeline and can be quickly setup using the animation wizard. For more advanced users the Graph Editor provides fine control over key values and interpolation. Once setup, an animation can be rendered out to a movie file ready for distribution and playback on any machine. Render quality surpasses viewport quality using professional anti-aliasing and motion blur effects delivery smooth movie quality motion.
Real-time clip box
Areas of point data can be quickly isolated using the clip box. Points are clipped out as you simply drag the edges of the box. You can also rotate the box for effective isolation of non-axis aligned faces.
Measuring
Measuring distances and extract point locations is done in an easier an intuitive manner. Measurement data can be exported to a comma or tab-delimited file ready for import into spreadsheets or other applications.
Imaging
Scaled orthographic or perspective viewport captures can be rendered to any resolution, limited only by the amount of memory you have available and your graphics card. In orthographic projection, ruler markings and scaling text can be optionally added to the image enabling correct scaling for printing or import into a CAD package. For the highest image quality, anti-aliasing can be enabled producing a smooth crisp output with reduced jagginess.
Annotation
Rapidly attach notes to point, model or drawing geometry complete with Hyperlink (to web or files) capability. Notes are saved in the project file enabling creation and sharing of multiple views and annotations of data sets.
Stereo Viewing
The 3D Stereoscopic feature brings data to life delivering a more emersive 3d environment and helping to understand visually complex environments. The plug-in support multiple viewing methods including inexpensive anaglyph glasses, shutter-glasses*, autostereoscopic screens or any device supporting Quadbuffered GL stereo*.
* Via OpenGL Quadbuffer mode. Requires a supporting graphics card and driver.
