Vegetation Mapping

The mapping of vegetation using laser measurement techniques is becoming widely used for a number of applications. Our laser scanners have a wide field of view, with high accuracy, making them ideal for this application. The rugedness and flexibility of the laser scanners allows vegetation to be mapped over all terrain.

Overview

Using Riegl terrestrial laser scanners together with our range of third party software products allows high accuracy terrestrial based surveys to capture vegetation data for applications such as vegetation encroachment and tree characteristics, such as canopy height, canopy density and stem volume.

Suggested Scanners

The Riegl LMS-Z420i and Z390 are typically used for vegetation mapping.
