Overhead Line Surveys

The surveying of overhead lines using laser measurement techniques is becoming widely used for the identification of low wires, sag measurement and identification of danger objects. Our laser scanners have a wide field of view, with high accuracy, making them ideal for this application.

Overview

Using Riegl terrestrial laser scanners together with our range of third party software products allows high accuracy terrestrial based surveys to capture overhead line data for applications such as low wire identification, vegetation encroachment and sag measurement.

Suggested Scanners

The Riegl LMS-Z420i and Z390 are typically used for overhead line surveys.
