RIEGL VUX-1

The RIEGL VUX-1 is a very lightweight and compact laser scanner, meeting the challenges of emerging survey solutions by UAS/UAV/RPAS, gyrocopter, and ultra-light aircraft, both in measurement performance as in system integration.

With regard to the specific restrictions and flight characteristics of UAS, the RIEGL VUX-1 is designed to be mounted in any orientation and even under limited weight and space conditions. Modest in power consumption, the instrument requires only a single power supply. The entire data set of an acquisition campaign is stored onto an internal 240 GByte SSD and/or provided as real-time line scan data via the integrated LAN-TCP/IP interface.

RIEGL VUX-1 HA (High Accuracy)

The RIEGL VUX-1 HA is the RIEGL VUX-1 laser scanner, with customised capabilities for different purposes.

The VUX-1HA High Accuracy is a very lightweight, compact and rugged laser scanner, that is easily mountable to whatsoever type of moving platform. The sensor meets the challenges of terrestrial mobile data acquisition in both measurement performance and in system integration. It is designed to be mounted in any orientation and even under limited space conditions and is perfectly suited for challenging survey missions based on cars, trains, robots, etc.

The "full circle" Field of View (FOV) of 360°, a very high laser pulse repetition rate of more than 1 MHz as well as an accuracy of 5 mm allow for excellent measurement results in applications like tunnel profile measuring, indoor and outdoor laser mapping, and railway applications.

RIEGL VUX-1 LR (Long Range)

The RIEGL VUX-1 LR is the RIEGL VUX-1 laser scanner, with customised capabilities for different purposes.

The VUX-1LR Long Range is a very lightweight, compact and rugged laser scanner, that was especially designed for airborne surveying missions from helicopter, gyrocopter, and other small aircraft. The sensor provides a maximum measurement range of 1,350 m, an effective measurement rate of up to 750,000 measurements/sec., and an operating flight altitude of up to 1,740 ft AGL.

In conjunction with an appropriate IMU/GNSS unit with antenna, a control unit, and a digital camera the sensor is integrated into the VP-1 Helipod. This user-friendly turnkey solution can be easily mounted on standard hard points and typical camera mounts of manned helicopters for applications like corridor mapping, power line, rail track and pipeline inspection.

RIEGL RiCOPTER with VUX-SYS

To use the RiCOPTER for acquisition of high-accuracy, high-resolution laser scan and image data, the UAS is equipped with the RIEGL VUX-SYS, comprising the VUX-1 LiDAR sensor, a IMU/GNSS unit, a control unit, and up to four high-resolution cameras.

The RIEGL VUX-SYS is a complete miniaturized airborne laser scanning system solution of low weight and compact size for flexible use in UAS/UAV/RPAS, helicopter, gyrocopter and ultra-light aircraft installations. The system consists of the RIEGL VUX-1 airborne laser scanner, an IMU/GNSS system, a control unit and up to 4 optional cameras.

The excellent measurement performance of the VUX-1 in combination with a precise fiber optic gyroscope and GPS/GLONASS receiver results in survey grade measurement accuracy.

Dedicated interfaces enable full control as well as system status feedback for low bandwidth radio links in UAS/UAV/RPAS systems. Additionally, the control unit contains interfaces for triggering up to four digital cameras. Precise time stamps of the camera's release events are stored in the raw scan data stream enabling subsequent combination of point cloud data and imagery.

RIEGL VQ-480-U

The V-Line® Airborne Laser Scanner RIEGL VQ-480-U provides high speed data acquisition using a narrow infrared laser beam and a fast line scanning mechanism. High-accuracy laser ranging is based on RIEGL´s unique echo digitization and online waveform processing, which allows achieving superior measurement results even under adverse atmospheric conditions, and the evaluation of multiple target echoes.

The scanning mechanism is based on a fast rotating multi-facet polygonal mirror, which provides fully linear, unidirectional and parallel scan lines.

The RIEGL VQ-480-U is a very lightweight and compact laser scanner, mountable in any orientation and even under limited space conditions on motorized hang-gliders, gyrocopters, ultra-light aircrafts and UAVs. The instrument has a low power consumption, needs only a single voltage supply and provides line scan data via integrated LAN-TCP/IP interface. An external storage device can also be connected via the USB interface.
