3D Laser Mapping is a recognised expert in the use of laser scanners for mining and 3D monitoring. Recognising the potential benefits of laser scanners across the monitoring industry, the development of SiteMonitor was driven by the need for a monitoring solution that takes full advantage of the benefits of laser scanning whilst remaining easy to use.
Working in partnership with mining surveyors during the development of the software has led to a simple-to-use, reliable solution that has the flexibility and performance to function in a wide range of monitoring applications.
The flexibility of SiteMonitor lies in the ability to select the laser hardware that best suits the intended application. For large open pit mining operations, where monitoring must take place from a safe position on the opposite wall, a range of up to 2.5km will be more important than speed. For detailed monitoring of important archaeological remains, a measurement rate of 8,000 points per second and an accuracy up to 4mm will be preferable over a long range performance.
