Simple Orthophoto Production
The approach of TerraPhoto in orthorectification is simpler and more accurate than in the most competing software packages. The software uses the laser data as an accurate ground model and therefore there is no requirement to install ground control before the data collection. The rectification routines offer the following advantages: Single pass method directly creates a mosaic of an orthorectified grid. Triangulated laser surface model accurately follows all terrain features. The system computes an elevation value for each pixel in the orthophoto. Automatic smoothing of colour transitions between the images.

The key features of the software are:
- The use of GPS and IMU systems during the data capture process, allows for accurate positions and orientations to be computed.
- Single pass orthorectification.
- Use of camera model parameters for heading, roll and pitch misalignment, radial and tangential lens distortion.
- Camera calibration including fudical mark positions.
- Use of tiepoints to improve positional accuracy.
- Aerial triangulation process using tiepoints to improve positions and orientation of raw data.
- Images can be used to create perspective views.
- Viewing of orthorectified images.

TerraPhoto also serves as an application for displaying raster images in the background of MicroStation views. With a combination of TerraModeler and TerraPhoto (or TerraPhoto Viewer) you can drape orthophotos over a ground surface and then render scenes with large orthophotos and RPC cells at a very fast rate.

Supported File Formats
The supported file formats include ECW, GeoTIFF, TIFF, BMP, CIT, COT, RLE, PIC, PCX, GIF, JPG and PNG raster files.
TerraPhoto Viewer
Also available is TerraPhoto Viewer, a cut down version of TerraPhoto, that can be used for simply viewing raster images.
