Forestry

The Riegl LMS range of airborne laser scanners are ideally suited for forestry applications due to their ability to record multiple echo returns. This feature enables the measurement of both the ground surface and canopy structure.

Overview

Using Riegl airborne laser scanners together with our range of third party software products allows thousands of acres to be mapped and processed in a very short time period.

Suggested Scanners

The Riegl LMS-Q560, and Q280i are typically used for forestry applications.

  • Derive the Canopy, the Canopy Structure, and a Bare Earth DTM under the Trees
  • Derive Forest Biomass Characteristics
  • Canopy Height
  • Canopy Closure/Density
